The British Academy of Film and Television Arts is an independent charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image by recognising and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the general public.
Apart from its awards ceremonies, BAFTA has an international programme of learning events and initiatives throughout the year, which provides exclusive access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent through workshops, masterclasses and mentoring schemes and much more. The aim is to establish connections with audiences of all ages and backgrounds across the UK, Los Angeles and New York. There are many ways to fundraise and support the academy ranging from individual support, trusts and foundations, donations to the London marathon and fundraising Gala.
The film Gala raises funds for Give Something Back and all the money raised enables BAFTA to help a wealth of new and emerging talent, ensuring that the very best creative work can be accessed and appreciated by the general public. BAFTA’s annual film awards ceremony is known as the British Academy Film Awards, which rewards the best work of any nationality seen on British cinema screens during the receding year.
