On this adventure you will spend several days in the sparsely populated Altai mountain range situated at the crossroad of borders between Russia, China, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Mainly covered by the majestic snow-capped Altai mountains, this area is home to rare animal species including ibexes, snow leopards, Argali wild sheep and numerous ethnic groups, including our Kazakh hosts. Typically, the hunt starts before dawn once the snow has covered the ground. The Golden Eagle hunters will ride on horseback over barren, frozen terrain split in groups, one moving to the mountain peaks to more easily spot their prey. You will be trained in the art of releasing and catching the eagle before riding out on your own hunt, and hopefully your first catch!
